News Wrap-Up: August 16th, 2011

Borderlands 2 has a teaser trailer up, it doesn’t really show much, but I do like the look of it.

Minecraft: Pocket Edition has been released today on Sony’s Experia Play (you know the PlayStation Phone), it costs $6.99. If you’ve played it before, you pretty much know what to expect.

GamesCom is happening as we speak in Cologne, Germany and a bunch of trailers has been released, so I’ll just list them all here. Soul Caliber V, Lollipop Chainsaw, Street Fighter x Tekken, Need For Speed: The Run, Devil May Cry, Dark Souls, Mass Effect 3, Battlefield 3, SSX, Uncharted 3, Infamous 2: Festival of Blood, Resistance 3 and UFC Undisputed 3.

EA has revealed a new FIFA Street will be debuting in early 2012. Continuing in EA news, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning will be released on February 7th, 2011.

After a Portuguese board game blocked the European release of Double Fine’s XBLA title Trenched, Microsoft confirmed today that the game will be released in Europe this September under the new title Iron Brigade.

Bastion is now available on Steam for $15, highly suggest checking it out if you don’t have a 360.

Announced during their press conference at GamesCom, Sony let word out that the Vita’s games will all be available to download. Ubisoft will bring a new Lumines and Assassin’s Creed to PS Vita. They also unveiled a new PSP model, that doesn’t have wifi and costs 99€, it will be available in Europe only.

Resistance: Burning Skies just got revealed for the PS Vita, it will take place moments before the 2nd game in the series. They showed off some gameplay footage on-stage, it looks good, finally dual analog sticks on a portable!

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 has been dated in Japan for November 17th. I’m guessing the North American release couldn’t be far off this date then.

Ninja Gaiden 3 has PlayStation Move support, I don’t know where the demand for it came from, but I’ll check it out.

Wow! The PS3 just got a world-wide price-drop effective immediately, you can go to your local shop and snap one up for $250. That’s insanely cheap.
